NYCON Elects Board, First President from New York City

Rottkamp to Assume Role of 1st Vice Chair


ALBANY, New York – February 23, 2015 – The members of the New York Council of Nonprofits, Inc. have elected Lynn Videka, Ph.D., Dean of NYU Silver School of Social Work, as Board Chair and have also named David Rottkamp, CPA Partner, Not-for-Profit Practice Leader Grassi & Co. in Jericho, NY as the 1st Vice Chair of the Board.  Dr. Videka will be NYCON’s first board chair from New York City.

“I am honored to begin this term as Chair of the NYCON Board of Directors.  NYCON’s mission is to develop and support a vibrant and effective nonprofit community in New York State.  NYCON provides the highest quality infrastructure support services to New York’s nonprofit community,” states Lynn Videka, NYCON Board Chair. She continues, “I look forward to working with NYCON’s board and staff   to advance the very important work of nonprofit organizations throughout the great state of New York.”

“Lynn’s long time dedication to and unique perspective on nonprofits is invaluable,” said Doug Sauer, NYCON CEO. “She’s been immersed in our community both while living and working in the Capital Region and, certainly now, as a leader in the nonprofit and academic communities in the New York City area. We couldn’t be more pleased to have her wisdom and experience guiding us through this exciting time for NYCON and our members.”

NYCON also welcomes David Rottkamp, CPA, Partner and the Not-for-Profit Practice Leader at Grassi & Co. as 1st Vice Chair. In his professional career David has more than 27 years of experience providing audit and advisory services to the not-for-profit industry. David also serves on the board of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in Long Island as well as being involved on the national level. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

NYCON is also pleased to announce David Adkins, PhD. as the 2nd Vice Chair of the Board and Tiombe Tallie Carter, Esq., Founder of Tallie Carter Law; Jesse C. Koepp, CTFA, Senior Client Relationship Manager of Fenimore; and Ellen Kotlow, a Community Volunteer and former lobbyist for the Home Care Association of New York State, Inc. as newly elected board members.
