Mill Operations Manager (full time): Seeking well-rounded person to assume the safe operation of Hanford Mills Museum’s late 19th/early 20th century sawmill, gristmills, woodworking machines, waterwheel, water turbine and steam power plant. Applicant must have: mechanical aptitude and strong problem solving skills; experience with or the ability to adapt skill set to the operation and maintenance of water and steam-powered flat belt-driven power transfer systems; commitment to the preservation of historic buildings, equipment, artifacts and landscapes; and the ability to perform tasks that require physical activity, standing/walking for long periods on varying surfaces, inside and outside, in a variety of conditions. Strong applicants also have some working knowledge of milling, woodworking, carpentry, and/or steam boilers and engines, applicant hired will receive additional training as needed.
