Communications Assistant, Art School of Columbia County

The Art School of Columbia County, a nonprofit community art school, seeks a responsible, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic person who has a love for the arts and arts education.  This position involves about 50% of contact time with the public and 50% administrative work.  This position will assist with proofreading and developing written and visual materials to help support and promote ASCC’s programs.

Additional responsibilities will include: occasional assistance with art receptions, art exhibits, and art programs.  The position will also interact with and answer questions from students and the public, assist ASCC with class logistics, and ensure that ASCC’s safety practices and other policies are implemented during class time.

The ideal candidate will have a background with the visual arts and have an attention to detail, with strong proofreading, prioritization, organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.  The ideal candidate will enjoy welcoming and working with people.  Familiarity with nonprofit/arts approaches to social media and MS Publisher a plus.

This position has the potential to develop and grow specific strength areas of a highly-motivated and qualified candidate, including non-profit/arts coordination, arts publicity, and community outreach.
